Gourmet Board with Smoked Duck Speck, Aged Cheeses and Chestnut Honey

The Perfect Board for a Special Occasion

Our Artisan Smoked Duck Speck is the star of this gourmet board. Its delicate smoky note and the natural sweetness of duck meat pair magnificently with aged cheeses, chestnut honey and dried fruit, creating a refined starter ready in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 150 g Tastiness Artisan Smoked Duck Speck
  • 100 g aged cheese (Pecorino, Parmesan or Grana Padano DOP)
  • 80 g soft cheese (Brie or Taleggio)
  • 2 tbsp Calabrian chestnut honey
  • A handful of shelled walnuts
  • A handful of toasted almonds
  • A few Calabrian dried figs
  • Artisan breadsticks or toasted rustic bread
  • A few fresh rocket leaves

Method

  1. Place the wooden board or slate on the work surface.
  2. Thinly slice the Smoked Duck Speck and arrange in a fan shape in the center of the board.
  3. Cut the aged cheeses into shavings or cubes and the soft cheese into wedges. Position around the speck.
  4. Add the dried figs, walnuts and toasted almonds in the empty spaces.
  5. Pour the chestnut honey into a small jar or drizzle directly over the speck and cheeses.
  6. Finish with a few fresh rocket leaves for color and freshness.
  7. Add the breadsticks or toasted bread around the edges of the board.
  8. Serve immediately, paired with a glass of Alto Adige Pinot Noir or Franciacorta brut.

Tips

Tastiness Smoked Duck Speck should be removed from the fridge 10 minutes before serving to enhance its aromas. Chestnut honey, with its slightly bitter note, perfectly balances the sweetness of the duck meat. For an even richer board, add a few Black Monacali olives and a small bowl of artisan mustard.
