The combination of figs, prosciutto crudo and honey is one of the great Italian aperitivo classics: sweet, salty and delicately aromatic. Calabrian figs, among the sweetest and most fragrant in Italy, are a perfect match for the savoriness of prosciutto crudo and the amber sweetness of flower honey. An elegant and refined aperitif that can be prepared in just 5 minutes.
Ingredients
8 fresh ripe figs
8 slices of prosciutto
3 tablespoons of Calabrian flower honey
Fresh arugula to taste
Black pepper to taste
Shelled walnuts to taste. (optional)
Preparation
Wash the figs and cut them in halves or quarters according to size.
Arrange a bed of fresh arugula on the serving platter.
Wrap each fig with half a slice of prosciutto and arrange them on the arugula.
Drizzle with flower honey, add a few shelled walnuts and a grind of black pepper. Serve immediately.
