Calabrian Nduja and Cheese Board

A Royal Calabrian Appetizer

The Calabrian Nduja and Cheese Board is the perfect appetizer to impress your guests with the authentic flavors of Calabria. Nduja from Spilinga, with its creamy texture and spicy character, pairs magnificently with aged Calabrian cheeses, creating a unique balance of flavors.

Ingredients

  • 150 g Nduja from Spilinga
  • 200 g mixed Calabrian cheeses (pecorino, caciocavallo, salted ricotta)
  • Black Monacali olives to taste
  • Calabrian rustic bread, sliced
  • Calabrian extra virgin olive oil to taste
  • Flower honey to taste
  • Walnuts to taste
  • Fresh rosemary

Method

  1. Arrange toasted rustic bread slices on a wooden board.
  2. Place the Nduja in a small bowl at the center of the board.
  3. Slice or cube the cheeses and arrange them around the Nduja.
  4. Add the Black Monacali Olives to one corner of the board.
  5. Finish with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, a few walnuts and a teaspoon of honey.
  6. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs.
  7. Serve immediately with the toasted bread.

Tips

Nduja spreads easily on bread at room temperature. For an even more intense experience, warm the Nduja slightly before serving — it will release all its spicy aromas. Pair with a good Calabrian red wine such as Cirò.
