Description

Whole-wheat tart with jam is a timeless Italian breakfast classic. Made with whole wheat flour and brown sugar, it is more rustic and wholesome than the traditional version. Ideal to prepare on Sundays to have a breakfast ready for the whole week.

Ingredients

  • 300g whole-wheat flour
  • 150g cold cubed butter
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 300g apricot jam or berries

Preparation

  1. Quickly mix flour, butter, sugar, eggs and salt until smooth.
  2. Wrap in plastic wrap and rest in refrigerator 30 minutes.
  3. Roll out 2/3 of the shortcrust pastry into a buttered mold and fill with jam.
  4. Decorate with shortbread strips and bake at 180°C for 30-35 minutes.
