Nduja and Calabrian Cheese Platter

A Calabrian appetizer fit for a king

The Nduja and Calabrian Cheese platter is the perfect appetizer to impress your guests with the authentic flavors of Calabria. Spilinga Nduja, with its creamy texture and spicy flavor, pairs beautifully with aged Calabrian cheeses, creating a unique balance of flavors.

Ingredients

  • 150 g Spilinga Nduja
  • 200 g mixed Calabrian cheeses (pecorino, caciocavallo, salted ricotta)
  • Black Monacali Olives to taste
  • Sliced ​​Calabrian homemade bread
  • Calabrian extra virgin olive oil to taste
  • Flower honey to taste
  • Walnuts to taste
  • Fresh rosemary.

Preparation

  1. Arrange the bread slices on a wooden cutting board. Toasted homemade Nduja.
  2. Place the Nduja in a small container in the center of the cutting board.
  3. Cut the cheeses into slices or cubes and arrange them around the Nduja.
  4. Add the Monacali Black Olives to a corner of the cutting board.
  5. Finish with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, a few walnuts, and a teaspoon of honey.
  6. Garnish with sprigs of fresh rosemary.
  7. Serve immediately with toasted bread.

Tips

Nduja is easily spread on bread at room temperature. For an even more intense experience, warm the Nduja slightly before serving: it will release all its spicy aromas. Pair with a good Calabrian red wine like Cirò.
