Description
This rustic Italian tart combines a buttery shortcrust pastry with the warm, aromatic flavour of organic Calabrian orange and cinnamon jam. A simple, wholesome dessert made with authentic artisan ingredients from the heart of Calabria — no thickeners, colourings or preservatives.
Ingredients
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 125 g cold butter, cubed
- 80 g icing sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 pinch of salt
- Zest of 1 organic orange
- 1 jar (250 g) Tastiness Organic Calabrian Orange and Cinnamon Jam
Method
- Quickly mix flour, butter, sugar, egg yolks, salt and orange zest until a smooth dough forms. Wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Roll out 2/3 of the dough into a greased and floured 22 cm tart tin. Prick the base with a fork.
- Spread the orange and cinnamon jam evenly over the base.
- Use the remaining dough to create a classic lattice top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30–35 minutes until golden.
- Allow to cool completely before serving.
